Cell Phones For Kids

Phones for kids, Kids phones, Kids cell phones, Kids cellphones, Cellphones for kids, Kids cell phone

I came across this mini rant and realized that this is what most parents face at some point when their kids get old enough to use smart phones:
Teens and cell phones

I think that clearly articulates some of the things parents fear the most when they buy their child that first phone. A young child with a simple kids phone won’t be that kind of problem but as the years go on and they get older, the phone becomes more and more entrenched in their lives.

Today’s teens don’t remember what their lives were like without a phone and can’t imagine living without one. Many of them are positively addicted to them and it is hard to get them to put their phone down.

I think this is one of the big worries parents have and why many want to keep their children away from phones as long as possible.

In the last 10 years or so, kids have become addicted to video games and we all know the controversies surrounding them. Children today don’t play outside as much because they are inside in front of that darn television or computer.

And now we have a new problem: they have their cell phones permanently attached to their arms and hands. Even whole families are glued to their “devices” which include iPads and iPods and this limits real conversation and real interaction.

If you are a parent, you need to pay attention to your child and give them your time. They need your love and they need to interact with you. Don’t just use the iPad or smart phone as a babysitting device in the early years. You need to teach them that there is a time and a place for everything and all these electronics are not there to replace our real lives.
